Climate Action NC in Charlotte will host an environmental justice symposium to honor the 50th Anniversary of Thurgood Marshall's appointment to the US Supreme Court.

We hope you can join our team to celebrate all of Thurgood Marshall's achievements. The Climate Action NC team based in Charlotte, NC will be honoring and strives to continue Thurgood Marshall's work by addressing the following at the event:
· Environmental, social and economic disparities that impact communities of color.
· Energy efficiency (housing) - how we can assist our communities. 
· Neighborhood revitalization (gentrification, displacement).
· Jobs and the economy (good paying jobs).
· Clean Environment (renewable energy, water, land) and how climate change effect the daily lives of individuals in Charlotte.
· Advocacy (judicial/legal, community, civic)

How do we push past healthcare disparities and become both physically and mentally healthier?

Join NYU Assistant Professor Helena Hansen, Dreaming Out Loud's Chris Bradshaw, Planned

Parenthood's Alencia Johnson and Journalist Stephen Graddick as they pull back the curtain and

discuss barriers faced by the urban community when trying to access quality healthcare.

Panelists will shed light on socio-structural/policy barriers, finding culturally sensitive providers,

navigating insurance coverage and discuss best practices and remedies to improve minority

access to healthcare services.
